SAFELY Buyer Shield

We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide the app's core features:

• URLs you scan — sent to our server to check reputation against Google Safe Browsing and complaint databases. URLs are not stored on our servers after the scan completes.
• Scan history — stored locally on your device only, so you can review past results.
• Onboarding answers & shopping preferences — stored locally on your device to personalise your risk warnings and paywall messaging. Never transmitted to our servers.
• Subscription status — managed by RevenueCat to verify your Premium access. No payment details are stored by us.
• Usage events — anonymised events (e.g. "scan started", "paywall viewed") help us understand how the app is used and improve it.

• Scan history, preferences, and profile data are stored locally on your device using encrypted storage (AsyncStorage). Uninstalling the app deletes this data.
• Scan count resets automatically each calendar month.
• Risky-site counts in your profile reset monthly.
• We do not operate a user account database — there are no servers holding your personal profile.

We integrate with the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy.

SAFELY Buyer Shield can automatically detect URLs copied to your clipboard and offer to scan them. The app reads your clipboard only when the app is in the foreground and only to check if a URL is present. Clipboard content is never stored or transmitted unless you explicitly choose to scan it.

SAFELY Buyer Shield is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

• Delete your data — uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from your device.
• Clear scan history — available from the History tab at any time.
• Opt out of analytics — contact us to request opt-out.
• Cancel your subscription — manage through your Apple or Google account settings at any time.
• GDPR / CCPA — if you are in the EU or California, you have additional rights. Contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes, we will notify you via an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
